The EIA reported a build of +7,070 MBbls in U.S. crude-oil inventories. In contrast, the market expected an average draw of -1,878 MBbls as reported by Bloomberg.
Inventories for the U.S. are now at a deficit of 20.10 MMBbls (-4.5%) to last year, and a deficit of 35.80 MMBbls (-7.8%) to the five-year average.
